Teddington Lights Up 2025: Everything You Need to Know for the Big Switch-On
Teddington’s most magical evening is almost here.
Teddington Lights Up 2025 returns on Thursday 27th November, 16:30–20:00 on Teddington High Street – an evening of lights, music, food and proper festive cheer.
Date: Thursday 27th November 2025
Time: 16:30–20:00
Location: Teddington High Street & Broad Street
Big Switch-On: 18:00
The High Street will be transformed into a festive hub, with lights, stalls, music and activities for all ages.
What’s On: Highlights of the Evening
There’s plenty happening throughout the event, so you can dip in after school, after work, or make an evening of it.
Broad Street Lantern Parade (16:30–17:00)
The night begins with a beautiful lantern parade – a glowing procession that sets the tone for the evening and gets everyone in the Christmas spirit.
Food, Drink, Craft & Gift Stalls
Expect a mix of tasty street food, winter warmers and local traders selling crafts, gifts and festive treats. It’s a great chance to:
Support local makers and businesses
Pick up some early Christmas presents
Grab something hot to eat or drink while you wander
Choirs & Carol Singing
Live choirs and carol singers will be performing along the High Street, bringing that classic Christmas soundtrack to the night. Perfect background to browsing, chatting and soaking up the atmosphere.
Santa’s Grotto at The King’s Head
A must for families – children can visit Father Christmas in his grotto at The King’s Head. It’s usually very popular, so worth planning this into your evening.
Children’s Funfair Rides
You’ll find rides and attractions to keep younger visitors entertained – ideal if you’re making it a family night out.
Elf Hunt with Prizes
Kids (and big kids) can join the Elf Hunt, exploring the High Street and spotting elves in shop windows for the chance to win prizes. It’s a fun way to discover more of Teddington’s independent businesses.
And of course…
Don’t Miss the Big Light Switch-On at 18:00
The main event: the Christmas lights switch-on at 18:00.
This is the moment the High Street truly comes alive – Christmas lights twinkling overhead, shop windows glowing, and the whole town gathered together. If you only do one thing, make sure you’re there for this.
A Community Effort
Teddington Lights Up is very much a community event, made possible by local volunteers, businesses and sponsors who give their time, energy and support to keep it going each year.
A special thank you goes to this year’s sponsors:
The Lensbury, Chase Buchanan, Ruba Restaurant, Nix Academy, Holmes & Daughters, Parsonage & Co, The King’s Head, Savills, Lyes Electrical, LEYF Nurseries, Kindred Nurseries & Teddington Lottery.
Their backing helps make sure the lights, activities and festive fun can happen.
Our own Rob from Teddington Carpets is also involved behind the scenes in helping bring events like this to life – something we’re really proud of.
